In a career that’s spanned a non-stop evolution in both the media landscape and the advertising business, freelance audio producer and engineer, Joe Vagnoni has consistently mastered the art of mixing, recording and designing sound for the industry’s most demanding clients. Joe has co-founded three recording studios, worked on countless radio and TV campaigns and collaborated with some of the industry’s top ad agency creatives, producers, film and video editors. His skills include not only producing and engineering audio tracks for everything from TV programs, commercials, radio spots, movie trailers, web shorts and podcasts, but also to casting and directing talent.
Joe mastered his craft at National Recording Studios, then Trackworks, but later joined Howard Schwartz Recording Studios, where he spent seven years specializing in radio before leaving to open Mixed Nuts. At Mixed Nuts, Joe and his partners designed the studio from the ground up as one of New York’s first all-digital facilities. In 2000, Joe joined Photomag, where he worked with a team of audio professionals who would become his partners in the state of the art audio post facility — audioEngine which opened in 2002. Joe left audioEngine in late 2008 to found Just Joe Audio, an independent audio production service and consultancy, where he works for a range of media clients.
